Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach Invites Everyone to Community Resource Marketplace Event
To raise public awareness and access to resources and social services in the area, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach will host its First Annual Community Resource Marketplace event on Saturday, September 9, 1 – 4 p.m.
More than a dozen social service providers have signed on and look forward to sharing resources for families, seniors, and job seekers. The half-day event will take place on the third floor of the library in the auditorium and adjacent meeting rooms. The event and all services rendered that day are free and open to all members of the public.
Programming for the event includes introductory overviews of each participating organization as well as more in-depth workshops from select providers, including a presentation on escaping a sinking vehicle from the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Palm Beach County. Additionally, Florida Rural Legal Services and the Florida Justice Center will be on-hand for consultation on legal matters, including child support, alimony, immigration issues, wage garnishments, and expungements.
Families are invited to receive free bike helmets, gun safety locks, early literacy materials, blood pressure screenings, and more. Family fun will also include special interaction with local magician Mr. A and his dinosaur friends.
